Robert Selders
Robert has always been a natural athlete. He approached his first year of college at Southern University with a full scholarship for football as the Jaguar’s wide receiver. Having earned a position in the starting lineup as a true freshman, he tore his left ACL in his very first collegiate game; and later two ACL knee reconstructions – as a dedicated team player he started realizing his passion for helping athletes play injury free.
Instead of pursuing the Olympics or Professional sports, Robert decided it was time to pursue the professional world. Gaining his Master’s Degree from MIT, he worked in the corporate world for 13 years as an Electrical Engineer.
In March of 2009, Robert decided that it was time to pursue his passion full-time and opened the doors of 3Q Fitness Studios current location. He went back to school to receive his Masters in Exercise Science with an emphasis in performance enhancement and injury prevention and has recently become an Integrated Movement Specialist.
Since beginning his personal training career he has been voted as one of the top 55 personal trainers in the country as well as contributing to several reputable publications on personal fitness – including writing a chapter in the book “The Power of Champions”.
Robert enjoys taking care of himself and his body – both at 3Q and in his personal life. His ideal week includes working out, playing golf at least 3 days a week and a massage everyday. Outside the studio, he enjoys spending time with his family and two daughters, hitting the dance floor, coaching track teams and eating his mother’s gumbo with red beans & rice. He’s always looking to meet people that like to cook – because this health-nut loves to eat!
